The Wilderness ROads story

At the beginning of the 2020 global pandemic, small businesses around the world were forced to shut their doors. Weeks turned into months; livelihoods and savings began to dwindle as it seemed no end was in sight.

The communities that relied on local commerce experienced struggles as their beloved merchants were no longer available.

Slowly, bravely, some began to reopen because their communities needed them.

Now facing unknown and uncharted territories, something new needs to happen to reconnect with the society we find ourselves living in…

Wilderness Roads is committed to creating new marketing paths for small businesses and non-profits to reach the people who matter most to them.

With over 7 years of marketing and digital communication experience, and a passionate vision to see communities thrive, Wilderness Roads is dedicated to providing individually designed tools, resources, and strategies.

Our story is your story.

Let’s tell it together.

Hello! I am so happy you’re here! Let me introduce myself. I am Chelsey, founder and owner of Wilderness Roads.

I am a work-from-home-mom, with three beautiful children and a wonderfully supportive husband. In addition to Wilderness Roads, I also the assistant director for a non-profit, summer youth- and family camp.

I have held a number of roles at various businesses over the years: some left me exhausted of the corporate ladder, some were simply just a paycheck; yet others opened my eyes to the needs of the community around me - the how little of time and resources I had to make my deadline and a difference.

To say that local, small businesses and non-profits are dear to my heart is an understatement. My husband and I met working at a locally-owned grocery store in Toledo, OH - the same company he still works for today, over a decade later.

It is my prayer that Wilderness Roads will be a support and catalyst as businesses and non-profits of all sizes reorient themselves to more fully serve, connect with, and assist the communities we live in.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:18-19
